Its Grind Time!!

Dont forget about the Safari Zone event this weekend. If enough trainers around the world help Professor Willow with his research tasks we will unlock some amazing bonuses!! They mostly center around XP so it’s a great time to level up! Also the bonuses include 1 hour lucky eggs which is great for chain raiding. So get out there this weekend and do as many quests as you can so we can all enjoy these fantastic buffs and rewards!

Upcoming Community Day…

I can’t believe its already time for another community day! As we approach the weekend I am very curious to hear everyone’s strategy pertaining to the most important CD we have had yet. Tyranitar with smack down and stone edge will kick Golem out of his throne as the best rock attacker in Pokémon Go.

My strategy is to be able to get as many top tier Tyranitars with the new move set as possible. I have 6 x 86-96% Larvitars in my collection ready to go. I also have 1,012 candies stashed away. During the event I am gonna go ahead and evolve 6 Larvitar all the way to Tyranitar. Even if I don’t have the candies to power them up right away at least they will have smack down and I can always max them out at a later time. I will spend the rest of the time shiny checking and catching as many shinys as possible! I hope to find a good IV shiny so I can max one of them out as well!

So in conclusion this is one of the most Meta relevant community days we have seen thus far. I intend on taking advantage of this one to the fullest. I would love to hear how you will be spending your Larvitar day and what strategies you will be using during the event. Stay safe and happy hunting trainers!!

Larvitar Community Day Details

Get out and play together in your local community parks on Pokémon GO Community Day. For just a few hours each month, you can encounter a special Pokémon in the wild. During these hours, there’s a chance to learn a previously unavailable move for that Pokémon or its evolution, as well as earn some Community Day bonuses. Celebrate what it means to be a part of the Pokémon GO community and make new friends along the way!

Note: Fast TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves during Community Day. To learn the exclusive move, you must catch or evolve the featured Pokémon during Community Day hours.

Alright folks, the next Community Day is coming up fast! In addition to getting the exclusive move, we’re certain to see SHINY Larvitar spawning in the wild.
Also remember, Tyranitar is still a raid boss.  This means if you do a Tyranitar raid during Community Day, he’ll come with the exclusive move.  This is one you definitely want your Tyranitar to have!

Who else is excited for Community Day this Saturday?

Funny story…

I had to work late last night, and WhySoSalty was chilling at home.  After I got home, we ate dinner and watched a bit of Doctor Who.
I opened my PoGo (which I hadn’t played for most of the day due to work) and saw there was a forced update.  I do the update and open the game…
and **GASP!** “Alolan Exeggutor!  Come on, let’s go play!”

So we rush out in our pajamas and slippers, at 10:30pm, and go catch like 40 something Alolan Exeggutors each.

We also got some funny AR+ pics.  Maybe we’ll show you those sometime…

I hope you all are getting these Exeggutors!

Community Day Wrap up

Another successful Community Day has come to a close. Me and some friends rode around in a minivan and had an absolute blast rolling around our downtown district. We all came out with a plentiful bounty of shiny Charmander and shared more laughs than we can count. I ended up getting 13 shinys over the 3 hour event. I want to know how all of your community days went. Did you catch a lot of shinys or none at all?? Whether you caught a bunch or not did you have fun? Please let us know in the comment section.
