Upcoming Community Day…

I can’t believe its already time for another community day! As we approach the weekend I am very curious to hear everyone’s strategy pertaining to the most important CD we have had yet. Tyranitar with smack down and stone edge will kick Golem out of his throne as the best rock attacker in Pokémon Go.

My strategy is to be able to get as many top tier Tyranitars with the new move set as possible. I have 6 x 86-96% Larvitars in my collection ready to go. I also have 1,012 candies stashed away. During the event I am gonna go ahead and evolve 6 Larvitar all the way to Tyranitar. Even if I don’t have the candies to power them up right away at least they will have smack down and I can always max them out at a later time. I will spend the rest of the time shiny checking and catching as many shinys as possible! I hope to find a good IV shiny so I can max one of them out as well!

So in conclusion this is one of the most Meta relevant community days we have seen thus far. I intend on taking advantage of this one to the fullest. I would love to hear how you will be spending your Larvitar day and what strategies you will be using during the event. Stay safe and happy hunting trainers!!

Three shiny Kyogre at one raid?

First of all, let me tell ya… Mr. WhySoSalty has been quite salty about his lack of Shiny Kyogre.  (I got mine on day 1, remember?)
I’m on my way home from work yesterday and we’re discussing the T5 raid eggs that are hatching at such-and-such times. We make the plan for which 3 we are going to hit, even though they’ll have to be done fast to get all 3 in before the Kyogre’s despawn.

Raid 1.  There were maybe 15 of us there…(hard to remember exactly).

We complete the battle and I watch the countdown.  2282.  Not bad, but of course not perfect.
I hear a dear friend say they have the same CP Kyogre as well.  Cool!
Then I hear the same dear friend say that he got a shiny!
[Clicks to see my Kyogre]
Mine is also shiny!!!
Oh, but how do I tell Mr. Salty…
“I’m sorry… I don’t want to tell you this, but –”
“OH MY GOD!!! I FINALLY GOT MY SHINY!!!!!”
How cool is it that 3 of us got a Shiny Kyogre at the same raid?  And even cooler that two of us have the same CP? 🙂

Larvitar Community Day Details

Get out and play together in your local community parks on Pokémon GO Community Day. For just a few hours each month, you can encounter a special Pokémon in the wild. During these hours, there’s a chance to learn a previously unavailable move for that Pokémon or its evolution, as well as earn some Community Day bonuses. Celebrate what it means to be a part of the Pokémon GO community and make new friends along the way!

Note: Fast TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves during Community Day. To learn the exclusive move, you must catch or evolve the featured Pokémon during Community Day hours.

Alright folks, the next Community Day is coming up fast! In addition to getting the exclusive move, we’re certain to see SHINY Larvitar spawning in the wild.
Also remember, Tyranitar is still a raid boss.  This means if you do a Tyranitar raid during Community Day, he’ll come with the exclusive move.  This is one you definitely want your Tyranitar to have!

Who else is excited for Community Day this Saturday?

Water Festival Event 2018 has seriously knocked my socks off!

Trainers,
It’s time to make a splash! Our Water Festival returns June 7 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, with Water-type Pokémon such as Magikarp and Wailmer appearing more frequently in the wild. Some lucky Trainers may even encounter a rare Shiny Shellder for the very first time during the event! Plus, enjoy Field Research tasks highlighting Water-type Pokémon until June 21 at 1:00 p.m. PDT.

Alongside increased appearance of Water-type Pokémon appearing all over the world, you’ll be able to earn 3× Stardust for catching Water-type Pokémon. Plus, 2 km Eggs will hatch exciting Pokémon such as Totodile, Mudkip, and Corphish—earn Double Candy and Stardust for every Egg hatched!

Raid Battles will also feature powerful Water-type Pokémon for the duration of the celebration, including the exciting return of the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre. And, if you challenge Kyogre during the event and come out victorious, there is a chance you’ll encounter its Shiny form!

So Trainers, dive on in to this water-focused event before it ends on June 21!
